Author Visit: Paul Allor (@ShelbyMainStacks)

Comic book writer, editor, and educator, Paul Allor is known for balancing intensely character-driven stories with bombastic ideas and dynamic plotting. Paul has written comics for some of the world’s biggest properties: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Captain America and other Marvel characters, Star Trek, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, My Little Pony, and more.

Allor combines veteran-focused mental health care issues in their writing, and is known for increasing queer representation in comics.

Paul Allor will speak on the writing and editing process, especially in the comic industry and how they address their concern for veterans suffering from PTSD in their writing.

Author Visit Mindy McGinnis (@Shelbyville)

Author Mindy McGinnis will speak about her writing at 6 pm at the main library. She is the author of multiple young adult novels in various genres. She always delivers grit, truth, and an unflinching look at humanity and the world around us.

McGinnis will have books for sale, and she will sign her books this evening.

Her most recent novel, “A Long Stretch of Bad Days,” was released on March 14, 2023.
